Tips for Choosing Quality Jamu Ingredients
- Turmeric: Choose large rhizomes with dark orange color when cut - a sign of high curcumin content
- Aromatic ginger: Choose dense ones with strong aroma. Good aromatic ginger has a "spicy" aromatic feel
- Tamarind: Choose glossy black color, not moldy
- Palm sugar: Choose dark brown and hard - genuine palm sugar
Why Fresh Jamu Is Better Than Instant Jamu
Instant jamu is usually in powder form that has been dried and mixed with additives. The drying process reduces most of the essential oil content and active compounds. Meanwhile, fresh jamu - like the ones Sriwantri makes - retains 100% of its natural efficacy because it is freshly crafted and consumed immediately.
No time to make your own? Order fresh jamu from Sriwantri, crafted from selected ingredients without preservatives. We deliver throughout Indonesia.
